Carson's vocabulary and "conversation skills" are simply amazing me these days. The consistent and constant stream of communications is funny, smart and maddening.
Yesterday Carson was sitting in his rocking chair with his legs open so that I couldn't sit down. I asked him what he was doing and he said "Boobyshasp, Boobyshasp". I said, "Carson, are you saying booby shop?" Then he looked at me in a thinking way and said, "cant' go past, Mama".
I understood! He was saying "Booby trap"! Where did he learn that? (At school.)
Other interesting words and concepts he's expressed this week:
"Look at the tattoo on my arm" (he was talking about a decal on the arm of his sweatshirt)
"But it's funny..." (when he's doing something he shouldn't...)
"Look Mama, you're all wet." (when he got mad that I washed his hair, he doused me with water. Bad boy.)

I would love to get your perspective as a parent on my new web site that I'm hoping will help families streamline their enrichment activities planning process. We just launched our beta test in Santa Barbara and SLO counties a few weeks ago and, now that it's live, I'm trying to get as much input as possible on whether or not parents feel it's a worthwhile service. (I'm hoping you've got content moderation switched on so this ends up an email instead of a post...)
ReplyDeleteWhile I've got lots of friends in my cheering section, I'd really like to get some perspectives from parents that DON'T know me, so that I get more of the tough feedback that I need to truly make this business a success (not to mention a useful tool/resource for both enrichment teachers and parents). If you DON'T like it or think it would be useful, just send a message through the suggestion box with a quick note about what you don't like about it and/or what we could do to make it more beneficial for parents… And if you DO dig it, what your favorite parts of the site are and/or what you'd like to see more of.
If you like what you see as a guest, I'd be incredibly appreciative if you'd also be willing to take some of the member parent features & functions for a test drive (penciling classes on your calendar prior to enrolling, creating a small social network of friends so that you can see what classes other friends are considering for their kids in the search results, syncing the calendar to your normal online or PDA calendar, enrollment, start date & end date reminders, etc.). Our general policy is not to email member parents unless they've got friend requests, carpool requests or acceptances/denials, or enrollment confirmations...in other words, items that need immediate attention. I don't want Kidzmet to be a contributor to any more inbox clutter than we've all already got.
Thanks in advance for any input and advice you can provide…and for taking the time to not only read this post, but to (hopefully) take my web "baby" for a spin.
And, if you know of any other local parents (or enrichment teachers) that might also be willing to take a look and give me feedback and feel like passing this message along, I would be GREATLY appreciative.
